W&S Recycling
How does our metal recycling work?

We recycle all grades of metal and end of life vehicles (ELVs). Our metal recycling sites are fully licensed with the Environment Agency (EA), Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Local Councils and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), therefore all processing adheres to current legislation.

Metals accepted at our licenced sites are sorted and segregated to ensure all waste streams are recycled correctly and efficiently. Our fully licensed Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF) which is located in Corfe Mullen is utilised to process in excess of 2,500 end of life vehicles per year, all of which are issued with a Certificate of Destruction (COD) when the process is complete.

Why recycle your metal with W&S Recycling?

W&S are the official contractor for Dorset and BCP Council for the collection of abandoned and unlicensed vehicles. We are also able to provide a collection service for vehicles ranging from Motorcycles to Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs). You can find us and other approved end of life vehicle processing facilities by looking on the Government website.

Approximately 95% of a scrapped car can be recycled. Recycling metal uses 75% less energy than making it from raw materials, and recycling one tonne of steel helps to reduce CO2 emissions by up to 80%.
